Monday, December 17, 2018 - My plan was to have Mattie published and printed by the beginning of December.  Well, this didn't happen.  I am currently formatting it myself to go to print.  This was a lot of fun in the beginning but not so much now.  It's very time consuming.  I have the formatting part done, and I am checking one more time for typos.  I seriously think I have read this story over ten times, which makes it hard to proof because I already know what it is supposed to say.  Dont' give up on me!  Hopefully it will be ready soon for you to read.

Friday, August 31, 2018 -  I have had an editor and an English teacher edit Mattie for me.  I'm now in the publishing process.  This is taking longer than I expected.  Please be patient with me.

Wednesday, July 27, 2016 - I am up to 400 pages and down to my last section to write.  (If I get this done within the next month, I will have shaved 8 years off my writing time from "And I Believe".  Ha!)  This section is smack dab in the middle of the book.  Weird, I know.  I have everything else written except for this.  This section has been more challenging to write than the entire book.  First, it takes place in Georgia.  I have never been to Georgia, but luckily my high school friend Stephanie lives there and she awesomely (if this is even a word) answered all of my millions of questions and sent lots of pictures.  It's hard to write about a place you have never been to, but she made it pretty easy.  Second, this section deals with something I really don't want to write about.  (So why am I writing about it you are probably wondering.  I keep asking myself the same thing.  :)  Seriously though, this "thing" has to happen for my story to end the way it does.  The challenging part is being careful that I make sure I am not too descriptive to where I could possibly turn off readers but still give enough detail so readers can feel what this character is going through.  (Hopefully this makes sense.  When I just went back and reread it, it doesn't.)  Either way, I need to stop procrastinating and just finish the darn thing.  Once I'm done, I'll give it to a couple of my friends to read for their input then I will send it to the editor.

My entire family, all fourteen of us minus my dad (he didn't want to go), just got back from a week long trip to Pigeon Forge.  This was so much fun!!!!  I was worried we might get on each other's nerves staying in the same house together for a long period of time, but we didn't.  Well, at least not for the most part.  :)  We did so many things...a wine tour, wax museum, hiked to the top of Clingman's Dome (the hike itself was only a half mile but it felt like ten miles...it was a killer), tubed down the river (where I seemed to get stuck on every big rock there....not my family though, they floated on by me), rode go karts, zorbed (this was awesome!!), did the Alpine Slide, went to the Dixie Stampede, and hung out by the pool, where I perfected my canon ball.  It was very relaxing and so much fun!

Sunday, October 19, 2014 - Me and Taylor had a fun girls day today.  First, we went to the movie theater and saw The Best of Me, a movie based on Nicholas Sparks' novel The Best of Me.  It was sooooooo good!  Then later, after we got home, we watched Fault in Our Stars.  Oh-My-Gosh!!  To me, the movie was just as good as the book, and I cried like a baby with both.  John Green, you're my idol!

Sunday, October 5, 2014 - I am a "bumming" kind of person on the weekends, especially after a busy week.  I like to nap and lay around and do nothing but watch TV.  It's wonderful!  Well, today after a nice two-hour nap, I cozied up on the couch and began reading The Selection by Kiera Cass.  Nine hours later, I finished it.  This was an awesome book, and I can't wait to start reading The Elite.  If you are looking for a good series to read, you have to get this.  Kiera Cass is a funny and witty writer.  She's very clever with her twists and turns and has you constantly guessing what is going to happen next.

Saturday, August 30, 2014 - Today was my first book signing.  I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be so much fun!  Many people came to see me and buy a book.  I can't wait to do this again.
